I don't know if anyone's ever considered that? I removed the one off my wife's bike because I was worried it could happen. It's getting cooler now so i'll probably put it back on
I have these for that... keeps heads temp under control on hot days or nasty stop and go traffic... works like a charm and imho, the best looking fans for our bikes.

I like the heat between my legs. Reduces shrinkage

I've never understood the appeal of heat deflectors.
If your bike is running so hot that you can't ride it then why would you want to wrap the rear cylinder and trap all that heat there on an air-cooled engine?
Sounds like it would eventually cause more problems that it fixes in the short term.

I know those love jugs look hidious, but if you are concerned about exessive heat, I would recommend them and sn oil cooler.
I' m considering an oild filter relocation kit from DK customs
That alone's gonna help some

Just a thought.
If the MoCo does indeed purchase Ducati, we might inherit this... http://www.cycleworld.com/ducati-unv...EyMTcxMDQyMgS2

I have the 18 heritage and I don't know what the heat thing you guys are all worked up about, I live in Tucson AZ and this 18 has been great for very little heat when riding and stopping at lights. My 17 limited was much worse and my 14 RK was worse too. This thing is amazingly not hot for a 114 under me. just my thoughts with hundreds of miles on my bike not 15 minutes like the naysayers...

Its nust the exhaust in rear that sits near the thigh area. Same like the 18 model

Cat is in a different position on the '18s. Night and day different to my '16 RK, plus overall motor feels cooler. I can't compare to a '17 Softail though.
