Last week was a busy one.....another mod I did was to raise the Fuel Tank to promote better air flow over and around the engine.......got the kit from DK Customs......this is the 1.5-inch lift kit, however, they have other options....really easy install which was great..
Another project my son-in-law and I accomplished last week was adding some slip-on mufflers to restore that heart warming sound of what I want my ride to sound like......not overbearingly loud but still have that deeper rumble while still being able to hear your tunes.....
It survived a 12 day two-up trip of 2311 miles ending Sunday; 9 states and one province, 3 days of intermittent downpours between Bar Harbor and Niagra Falls through the upper parts of those states, and only a couple of "challenges" from moron cagers. Pics to follow, and I'm starting to be able to feel my a$$ again.
Oh, and I added the Custom Dynamics LED tail lights before we left; I'm sure those things helped, dang are they bright!

Sounds like a fun trip! Looking forward to the pics!
Added an Oil cooler and Oil filter relocation kit that I purchased from DK Customs......sure makes changing the oil a lot easier and definitely helps to keep the engine running much cooler......
While at it I changed out the Air Filter system......yeah, I got it from DK Customs at the same time I was shopping for the relocation kit...
routed the overflow filter system to hide it some and it actually looks decent here and is available to service....

Great photo's, glad you're enjoying the benefits. I like how you did the Premium Discrete EBS.
It may seem like a kluge to some, but this luggage rack mod I made for the Tri Glide sure works great on long trips when we carry a waterproof roll-up dry bag on it. It takes all of 30 seconds to remove the bag to get to the contents of the tour pack. Opening the lid with a bag on the rack just isn't a good idea, especially not all the way (although we can sneak a drink bottle out of the cooler that sits right inside of the latch without stressing the hinges too much, being very careful.)
Undo three quick latch couplings and the bag is off! They all pass through an anchor point on the bag, and I made a little loop with two snaps on it that they pass through. Between them and the rear riser, the bag literally can't go anywhere. And the whole thing comes off by cutting four ty-wraps that hold it down to the lighted Aerowing rack. Those bendable rubber thingies back there are just kept there, the plan was to hang our helmets from them or whatever else they would do, just a handy place to keep them. Very useful but one of those things that you don't know why until you need one!
Most of the weight is still on the rack, the assembly is held in place with ty-wraps to the rack, and any weight on it sits on the lid on pads, front and rear, so it's not all on just the four legs of the rack.
There's a couple of layers of vinyl window cling on the tour pack at the places the assembly pads sit to protect the paint; zero scuffing. Cut the ty-wraps, remove the assembly, There are a couple of layers of black electrical tape on the rack where the assembly sits on it partially, or where the ty-wraps hold one to the other.
The whole thing is made from copper tubing, reinforced inside on the two bottom corners with some JB Weld inside; all of the straps snap on and off (the cross strap isn't on there yet, but you can see where the snaps are. The whole thing weighs maybe two pounds, tops.
Overall I'm really happy with how it works out. Much easier to strap the bag down than running bungee cords all over the place, more stable, the raised back takes the wind pushing back on the bag.
Oh, the dry bag is for clothes, we keep two duffel bags inside it, one for clean clothes, one for dirty. The clothes for the next day are down in the dual Saddlemen bags inside the trunk, so we dont need to open it all the time, just carry it into the room. It stays the same size, basically, as the clean duffel shrinks the dirty one expands. We also put anything we buy on the trip in there, like t-shirts, sweatshirts, coats. Which limits the wife buying much! And the bag weighed in at 18 pounds, for what it's worth.
