Scotch(3M) Extreme mounting tape is available at big box hardware stores, I've used it and it is quite strong, it looks to be the same as the auto trim stuff posted above but the roll I've got is 1" wide rather than 1/4"

Count me in for the 3M tape. It has worked very well for everything I've used it for. This is the same stuff they use for the GoPro mounts I'm told.

tru value or ace hardware stores have the tape you're looking for. the cost would be less than $5.

If you put the 3M Tape on your doorbell just before Halloween night you might catch some interesting video on your porch!

We use this 3M tape in our industry, great stuff.

I have used it on my bikes over the years for odd stuff too. Its good even to hold a wire in place or cushion between to pieces of metal etc ...

The key is always wipe both surfaces of what you want to mount with rubbing alcohol to clean off any oil or dirt. Depending where you use it extreme heat can make it mushy over time when it is super hot, like any adhesive, depends on the purpose and use but in most cases this will do the trick.

Ah, yes, someone else mentioned molding tape, I just used some liquid version of that for the first time on some molding on my truck, again, key is to use some rubbing alcohol to clean the surface, of course if it is a painted surface use caution! )
I think I got the molding glue/liquid in Walmart Automotive section, has to be a Super Center I am sure.

(ok now that I wasted my time typing this, I see what you need the adhesive for, the 3m/scotch double sided tape may be too think for what you want._ *L*

I ended up using the 3M 1/4" tape with the red plastic. Got it at Autozone for $7 because they are walking distance and the old lady was bitching at me for some thing about not listing to her or something like that. So I went and paid a little extra but got the job done. It worked perfect for that escrutchon. Thanks for all the input. I like the way it turned out.
