Just couldn’t say no after seeing it in person.
Congrats on your new bike and welcome to the M8 forum.

The trip took about 12 hours total. I spent approximately $120 on fuel food and tolls. The bike is wonderful to ride. I've only put about 35 miles on it so far. It's at the local HD dealership now. I'm having them go through it and make sure everything is cool. The chrome was peeling on the forward shifter so they're replacing the entire shifter mechanism under warranty. I also got $1k in Harley accessories with it so there was even more to the deal than I had originally known about. So far so good. The ultra has a nice new stable mate and the sport bikes are in the back under a blanket where they can cause no harm...

Looks like a good deal. I picked up mine in November for 20k with only 350 miles on it. Same color but it is the Street Glide Special. Funny story, I was intrigued when I saw the new frame and M8 on the 2018s. I rode a Fatboy and was going to purchase it after weeks of negotiation and getting the dealer to drop all of the “add on” stealer fees of 1500 for freight and prep plus a bit off MSRP. I was a little unsure this was the bike for me so I gave it another test ride but also wanted to compare with the 2017 SGS they have discounted.
After riding the Glide I knew this was the bike for me. I was at the dealer with my trade and checkbook good to go. The numbers on the leftover SGS and the 2-tone 114 fatboy I negotiated we’re just about the same so I offered to take the SGS done deal. They asked how I came up with my numbers and tried to add back the freight and prep on a leftover after I already negotiated this off the Fatboy. I told them take it or leave it but they still tried to suck more cash from me so I walked out.
That night I found the SGS on Craigslist. The guy wanted out because he did not have time to ride it. Next day he trailered the bike and met me a a HD dealership. He had to cut a check close to 5k to walk away and I did the rest of pay off.
Just goes to show the level of greed some of these dealers still have. Some of them act like it’s still the 80s. Rather then move a little and get a loyal customer they had to try to suck some more cash. I saved a few K on the bike, ended up with the Superior blue over stock black, and made a few K extra on my bike selling on Craigslist in 1 week.
They would not even give a discount on parts, wanting me to join their 100 dollar club just to get 10 percent. I have already dropped a few K thru places like Sturdyke that readily discount up to 20%, ship free and no tax. Go figure.

nice bike. How many tie downs did you use on the trailer? Just in case I get another, I will use the same U-haul trailer. Love the color... well done great deal.

Three. One on each side of the handlebars and another that wrapped around the rear wheel. It was a very easy trailer to use and for less than $16 per day it's great value too.

That's a great looking bike. I already had a 6.5 touchscreen and don't care for the gloss inner fairings so the standard was the right choice for me. I've already grown bored of not having a more sporty HD to ride since selling my Fatboy and V-Rod so I picked up another 17, this time a Low Rider S. Love that 110.

3 states between you and him and you're the only interested buyer? Red flags and sirens for me.

My experience is, if it's a blow out deal, you better be the first one to find it and not be more than 3 miles away...if days or weeks pass and this "deal" is still there...don't let greed cost you a fortune...

That dealer inspection is a joke..they are not going to take the bike apart to look for problems...they'll just check fluids, ride it, charge you $300 and tell you their "opinion" is it's "ok"...but no guarantee that it actually is "ok" because "serious problems can be hidden" and "parts can fail without warning"...so, unless you're blind, deaf, and know zero about Harley's...your trip to the dealer is a waste of time and money....better off taking 1 or 2 friends that work on their own bikes for extra eye's and ears.

PS> Write up a bill of sale that includes a section for the seller to list any known issues with the bike. If he leaves it blank, and you prove there were issues (dealer service records, etc.) you could win in court fairly easily. As I said the dealer inspection is worthless to me, but asking them for the bikes service records would be of value...if it's been serviced there..

Nice. Gave up my 2006 wide glide because I don’t ride enough to justify having 2 bikes. I was never really into baggers but after riding the glide I was sold.
The power difference from the twin cam to the M8 was huge, even with all the extra weight of a bagger. Put the CVO seat on because I ride solo. Made a nice difference in the stance of bike providing more stable footing and along with the Yaffe bars gives a sportier look and feel.

EDITED BY ADMIN Better yet go somewhere else. Guy's got 6 bikes in his stable. I'm sure he has more miles and common sense than you.
