Got in 5 short rides so far this month. Mostly short miles so the total is a little over 300 miles.

The last two Januarys I did over 2K each one. But we had many sub zero days this year.

Don't sweat the salt as I ride every winter and clean them once in the spring and never any problem with rust.

Good for you! I live on a dirt road in the "Thumb" of Michigan and it is far too icy to ride right now. I did go for a ride on New Year's day last year.

35 miles north of Traverse City here. Stuck my head out and didn't see my shadow. 10 more weeks of no riding.

Way to much salt up here in Iosco Co to take the bike out. I'd be cleaning it up till mid march, not to mention the ice between my place and a clear road.

Here in Michigan as well. I heard a few yesterday. We've still got snow on the streets here in the subdivision and though the roads were, "clear" there are too many puddles of salt water not to mention the potholes.

Default Life is too short!!!

Glad ya got a ride in as did I. Close to 60 so didn't even use heated gear. In a little bit I will be washing the salt off of the bike and call it good. As said, life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Sure the bike looks a little crappy now but will be fine after some soap and water. I bet you were all smiles much like myself.

I'm it Farmington Michigan I was finally able to ride my bike from my front garage to my back garage where I tore it apart and upgraded the audio system on my 2010 ultra.

I get in a New Year's Day ride every year. This year was a very cold one!
