Disconnecting O2 Sensor on a Stock Bike???
I have a 2015 Dyna StreetBob, its all stock except the V&H straightshot slip ons (no controller, no air filter). My o2 sensor got damaged and started triggering error codes (VINERR) killing the engine so the dealer disconnected it and told me to ride without the O2 sensor.
He said I didn't needed it that much. How accurate is this? Should I try to get that sensor fixed or keep riding without it? By the way the exhaust sound changed significantly and I am getting a lot less popping now..

Thats why I am asking, yes the bike is still under Waranty (new bike under 5K kms) and they are already changing the ABS module under waranty. On top of that I am having this issue so I had a feeling they didnt want to change that as well... I think smart thing to do it to get that fixed under waranty as well, but for the short run I will have to ride the bike without the O2 sensor so I want to know if its something I should be doing...

Sorry for the stupid question but how complicated is to change the damaged O2 sensor to a new one? Is that a big buy and a complex change or something simple and fast?

It's not hard change out, especially with a crow's foot socket. But don't go throwing parts at it without diagnosing the problem first. I know we're only getting one side of the story but it sounds like you need to find another dealer.

I agree. I went to MMI and you should get the sensor replaced the bike needs to know what the exhaust is doing to adjust fuel ratio.
