I'm gonna be the turd in the punch bowl yet again and start off by saying that the Moto 602 is probably one of the most blown speakers on this forum.
We have guys sending 200w, 225w, 250w, 275w, and even 300w in order to "really make them come alive, or to really shine, or get in their wheelhouse."
The bad news is that the RMS for that speak is 90w and the peak is 160w so setting anything above 160 u should really be anticipating the magic smoke at any moment. Of course their is some fluff in these specs/limits to protect the manufacturer on reliability & warranty claims but doubtful it's more than 10-15% at best.
In a nutshell, use your best judgement on setting those gains at reasonable values or plan on popping the hood off on occasion to address the magic smoke. Furthermore, if these Speaks don't shine within the published parameters, buy a speaker that does.
Just sayin!!!!

What's up Brother! I could not agree more. These speakers are WAAAY overrated in my opinion in sound, quality and their ability to handle the suggested wattage. Every set I've seen installed pushing what the forums have suggested (180W +) have blown and quickly. A CW Vega B2 will toast these for certain. Happened to one of my Club Brothers twice. best bet, is to stay with in the specs of the speaker or as Tailwind so eloquently put it, go another route with speakers that can handle the power you need. Maybe early on, they were built better, but something has changed with their power handling and that goes for their 6X9s as well.

Having ran 5 sets of these speakers and throwing 200+ watts to em I'd have to disagree. You guys are assuming these speakers are being set up correctly.

Ive pumped 200 to them all day long for 2 years on one of my flhtk' BUT they were crossed over at 85 and eq'out for "punch and vocals' NOT bass. I've seentoo many push them for bass response instead of vocals and sq. Just my .02
Edited to add: and that's with the arc 600/4 bridged that still powers them.
