How is a whin "whine" like a bunch of firecrackers going off? Since its your 2nd new M8 and the first one did not exhibit the whine, whats your Dealer have to say about it? Take it in and let us know.

The whine from the clutch when downshifting is normal. I’ve had a sportster, 2 twin cams and now my M8 and they all did it. The noise you’re hearing from the cam area can’t help you with

Well, if it's defiantly nothing he has herd yet, I don't know if I would weight a fue weeks to take it in. Maybe better sooner than laiter...

I am puzzled also. A whine don't sound like firecrackers! I would take it in as soon as possible

update on my engine whine,

just got off The phone with the dealer they said the whine noise when downshifting was from the primary the primary chain was too tight they took out the auto adjuster and put it back in and let it retention itself and now it’s fine ,as far as the whine from the right side of the motor goes they are replacing the cam shaft, oil pump with a new gen 3 oil pump and well as the cam bearing and oil pump bearings all i can day is good thing for warranties

OP: What bike do you have? Do you know the build date (on the right front frame down tube)?
