Default Harley stops rental program

I had rented a bike in March from Alligator Alley in Sunrise Fl and rode to the Keys, we were looking at doing it again in Oct 18 and was poking around on the ole inter web and was not getting any info so I called Alligator Alley and also called Pettersons in Maimi to double check and was told by both as of Jan 1 2018 Eaglerider would take car of rentals. So a little heads up if you planned on renting it won't be thru the MoCo.

Well that just blows!
Just looked at the only eaglerider within 200mi of me and out of 11 bikes offered an electra glide was the only HD offered.

Haven't they done this in the past? We tried to rent Harleys in Austin years ago, dealer told us they didn't rent bikes anymore. This was years ago.

Some dealerships have never rented motorcycles. Others have enthusiastically rented them. Every dealership is different.

I dont believe its a nationwide thing. Dealer by dealer basis. So I wouldn't just assume your local dealers dont do it anymore without checking.

I've rented roadkings from Eaglerider franchises housed in HD dealerships, and all they rented out was HDs. Not much will change here I think. Eaglerider will pick up the slack left by HD would be my guess.

"Harley" as in Corporate, doesn't rent anything.
Dealers can do whatever they wish in regards to renting out bikes. The closest and largest HD dealer in this area doesn't rent bikes. The dealer I got my Limited from does rentals.

Pretty sure this is corporate, all HD rentals have been handed over to Eaglerider as of 1-1-18.
