Finally a warm day and bike won't start.
We have had bitter cold weather here in the midwest, today it's over 50 degrees. Went out to go for a ride and the bike wouldn't start. I have a Yusa 500 cca AGM battery that I installed exactly 1 year ago in my 2010 Ultra. I also keep the battery hooked up to a battery maintainer. The maintainer says the battery is charged so I really don't understand it not turning over. I'm wondering if having my bike parked in an unheated garage with all the bitter cold temps could be a factor. Just wondering if any of you guys have any ideas? I suppose I'm going to have to pull the battery which is a pain. I ordered this battery through Phat Performance so I don't know how hard it will be to try and get it replaced if it is defective. Thanks.

A battery minder doesn't always keep a full charge. Do you have a volt meter? If it's under 12.75 volts hook it up to a 2 amp trickle charger until it's 100% charged.
Did you check your connections? Maybe they corroded over the winter. Do you have any corrosive chemicals in your garage like Pool Chlorine?

A Harley or Walmart's Bell maintenance charger will keep it at 12.7 or so. Check your connection.
What is a tender to you. My last Harley gell mat AGM battery had on it to not use a regular charger on it. However, 2 AMP is not a lot as long as the controls shut it down.

Don't want to sound cold (pun intended) but it's 50* air temp and the sun maybe shining but the bike is cold soaked as well as the battery. Do you have a battery stashed away in the basement or someplace where it was warm? I'm in the same situation and I'm sure none of my bikes will start. Deltran smart chargers are a maintainer charge that is supposed to maintain a nominal 13.2v if memory serves me. If you want to ride next time maybe bring the battery indoors and charge someplace where it won't get cold soaked. Good luck.

I'll add a little more information, I use a 1.5 Shumacher battery maintainer. I have always had a bike in this garage for the last 16 years using a Shumacher battery maintainer. Years ago I had a Valkyrie with a Yusa battery and it was still going strong after 10 years. My last battery in my Ultra was an Interstate and it lasted 4 years. Before that the stock battery lasted 2 years and 4 months. I bought the Yusa AGM battery a year ago because of having such good luck in the Valkyrie. I'll just have to pull the battery if it doesn't start tomorrow when it's suppose to be 60 degrees. I appreciate everyone's comments.

If it is not a battery problem try this....(if you are keen to go for a ride)....
Get a length or wire, approx 4 feet ...
Disconnect trigger wire from starter motor..
Insert one end of wire into starter motor trigger wire connector...
Get access to battery terminals...
With bike in neutral ,, ignition switch on,, kill switch to run ....
Now with other end of wire ,, place on positive terminal .... If bike starts ,, remove wire from positive terminal .... Remove wire from starter motor trigger wire connector....
This test tells us that you have a problem/fault on starting system,, not the battery ...
