Does anyone have a replacement brake pad recommendation? I have a 2014 Ultra Limited, so its the full boat tourer. What brand and model would you recommend, and why are they better than HD OEM pads. Even the HD OEM pads seem pretty cheap so cost isn't a big factor on these critical items. Thanks!
EBC & Lyndall are good aftermarket pads. But this is where I stick to the OEM Brembo on my Ultra Limited. I ride in the Blue Ridge a lot. Great, smooth stopping power & terrific in the rain. They also last a long time. Only complaint I generally hear is they create more dust than others.
Thanks for the feedback. I haven't been unhappy with the OEM pads but I thought I would ask. I'll be due for a tire change in several thousand miles, so probably have pads done too.
OEM Harley pads are the way to go. I ride my 2016 Ultra Classic pretty hard, and about 2/3 of the time my wife is on the bike with me. The original pads lasted longer than any I've ever seen on any motorcycle in my riding life of 55 years. I got 25k miles out of the rear set, and just recently replaced the original front pads at 35k miles. This is unbelievable longevity! And, the Harley pads, designed for the Harley rotors, are probably the least expensive way to go. I've used aftermarket pads on my Japanese bikes, and found that they ate up my rotors faster than I wanted. No, the Harley brakes are fantastic as they are. I wouldn't change to a non-Harley brake pad, there just isn't a reason to.
