Leg up landing gear… any input or first hand experience?

I have a friend unable to hold his bike up at stops. He’s considering HD’s Freewheeler model, but he’s not sure he would enjoy the trike experience.
He rides a Roadking.

My father in law went trike late last year after riding two wheels for 50 plus years. He hates it, but will admit it is better than being in the Prius. Man needs to know his limitations, than work around them the best you can.
No way I can hold up a bike with my bad knees and feet. Choice was a 98 ultra with a Champion trike kit.
Great choice. Same wind, same ride. Can keep up with most in the twisties. That or no riding....can't deal with that.
Plus, I love my Evo! Ken

Only downside I see, is when when the wheels are deployed, since I can think of times where I am slower than 6mph, and want to be able to lean the bike to turn it hard instead.
Also, can think of many streets that are off caliber during a stops, and having the wheels try to keep the bike upright to ground levelness, would have it leaning to a nasty angle at a stop light, meaning trying to get it going straight with that much of a lean before the wheels did raise again, not the best of ideas.
So really, if it gets back enough that riding a two wheeler is not longer a option due to leg problems, nothing wrong switching over to a meter maids trike isntead.

My old boss had a RK and was to old to hold the bike up at stop signs.
1 ride, when taking off into a turn the wheels didn't retract soon enough and caught,
putting him into a ditch.
He was old then, 80 something. That's when he stopped riding, he didn't want to go the trike route.
