Default Changed up to a Sawicki

As the title says I switched pipes on my '21 Lowrider S. I've been running Thunderheaders for
years and decided to switch it up a bit. I wasn't a big fan of the stainless look, but it started
growing on me. Biggest issue for me was all the tig welded stainless pipes were too short
for my liking.
I considered a HPI, but didn't want to wait that long. I am more than happy with the Sawicki
and think it was a great decision. Performs the same as the TH, but sounds and looks way
better.

Nice, the Softail mid-length, available and price is not too crazy.

Can you measure the OD of the head pipe before and after the step? I'm guessing it's 1-3/4" before the step.

Personally I really like the stainless look. Although I think it would look a lot better without a logo plate welded on it.

But the real question is how did it fit? I have seen Sawicki had some real problems with fitment about a year ago. Even a pipe they gave away to a person didn't fit and had to be shipped back to them.

You are correct. 1 3/4” before 2” after

Logo’s don’t bother me too much, unless it’s “S&S RACE ONLY” that is absolutely hideous.

I had no problem with the installation, it’s a breeze compared to the Thunderheader.
Where the front and rear pipes meet at the collector, they are different lengths, so 1 pipe
is all the way in and the other is not. Not ideal,
but doesn’t seem to be a problem. I will ask them
about that.

Yea, I like the sound. As you remember I was slightly disappointed the way the Thunderheader
sounded after my cam install. Just didn’t have that chop at idle.

Are there two different versions of this pipe? I looked it up on FuelMoto. One image shows it has a upswept muffler and the other image looks like the one you have. Just curious? I don't like the upsweep pipes. They would interfere with saddlebags.

I was confused by that also. Best to contact them. I didn’t want the upswept muffler either and it’s not mentioned in the description on their website. I do recall reading a statement somewhere that mentioned the upswept design for added ground clearance. I can’t remember where I saw that though.
