I have purchased two lid locks directly from LidLock and very satisfied with them. However, as you discovered, they are out of business. Now, I would rather deal with our original equipment manufacturers here in the States, but sometimes we're just forced to go elsewhere. These things are all over eBay for $25 or less. How do I know, I just bought two of them a couple months ago. They appear to be the same type of manufacturing and the quality and keys and stuff appears to be the same.
100% agree with you.
At the moment nobody tried to steal my helmet but a little precaution doesn’t hurt
Yes, I've been riding over 50 years and have never locked a helmet, nor had one stolen. Nor have I heard of anyone else I know having their helmet stolen.
Is it really that common of a crime?

I’m in nyc and I’m very lucky since I never had in issue of any kind at all.
here and there I go to some bars at late hours but is just an extra precaution
I'm not throwing shade on your decision, just kind of a rhetorical question, as I can't recall meeting anyone who's had their helmet stolen. Usually it's the whole bike I've heard about.
