Default Tell them the market is FLAT

We all know over the past few years the Harley resale market has fallen. For years I would buy Evos or early Twin Cams, do a little TLC and turn them for a profit. Well, that's no longer the case, as the market is flooded with a few exceptions. I went to an auction today armed with a little knowledge and some money ready to leave with a bike I would probably keep a while. 1995 BadBoy showing a little wear, needing new tires, and the left tank had a substantial dent and scrape in it. Yes, it's a Springer and 31 years old. I had my max bid in mind and ready. The first bid was more than my planned max and the final bid was $10500 + a $1050 buyer premium, as well as other fees and shipping if needed. Wasn't my day.
Somebody please tell these guys the market is flat.

Not many BadBoys were made. Lots of softtails from that era available pretty cheap.

I think clean Evo's are coming up in price, a little bit of nostalgia cool with still low maintenance and grief. Springers seem immune to the current low prices, Bad Boys even more so. I would grab one for the right price, but that wasn't it for the negatives you listed. For that money I want the one with under 10k miles that lived a privileged life in a garage. Good luck with the next one.

Most bikes have dropped in price over the last couple years, but Springers, especially Badboys, have maintained a pretty decent price.
I can buy clean Evo Dynas, Softails, or Touring bikes for under $4000 locally. There for a while Evo Sportsters were pretty cheap, but they are starting to come back up in price now.

Evo Sportsters are beating the market. A clean one has been worth about $3k for the last 20 years, strange but true.

Yep, locally they were going as low as $1500, but were typically $2000-$2500 for a while. Recently theyre back up in the $3000 range

I couldn't buy a bad boy firstly because of the name they chose to call it and secondly the small front wheel that makes it look like an oversized Grom with a springer.
