Default Chances of a 1250 Nightster ?

I might be in the market for a Nightster, I have a test ride next weekend but so far I really like the rider triangle. I have a 1981 Sturgis and I love that bike, surprisingly as far as rider triangle the Nightster is very very similar. With my 6ft4 and 36” inseam most bikes are a big no immediately when I do a sitting test.

I would rather have the Nightster with a 1250 though instead of the 975. I am wondering how likely it is Harley will introduce a 1250 Nighster for 2027, cause I would wait for that version.

Shared characteristics with the Nightster are mid controls, low pulled back handlebars, low bike in general. Though the Nightster doesn’t have this much pullback, but the risers can be changed.

Like the Nightster, relatively narrow with narrow tank

Extremely unlikely. Have you ridden a new nightster? Power is more than sufficient and you can tune them as well.

it’s more about wanting a lower rpm machine. I’m kind of of the opinion that all revmax models should come with a choice of 975 or 1250 engine. And I think the new CEO might make this come true cause it seems logical to me. And then I’d rather wait for the 1250 than get a 975 now, can only spend my money once.

Your 1981 Sturgis doesn't even look broke in yet.

I don't think they'll ever put the 1250 in the Nightster. And the 1250's don't like to be that much lower in the RPM than the 975 either. The Sportster S probably has the best low end out of the 3 Rev Max engines and it still likes to be kept over 3000.

Rumors seem to go the other way

at 6:27 ‘believed to be a replacement for the liquid cooled Sportster’

now I’ll definitely hold off till the 2027 model lineup is known.
