Will the cost or motorcycle tires push more folks to the darkside?

With rear tires for the heavyweight bikes over $300 now, I wonder how many people will go to the darkside. I already know 2 people near me that have done it. Both already had the 16 inch rear wheel bikes.

What is the most rounded car tire to be had today? In the 195/60-16 tire size.

I won’t ridicule you for doing it but me personally I’m sticking to motorcycle tires. You don’t hear very much about people switching back. So it must have some validity to it.

For the best handling and to eliminate surprises I just buy the OEM size motorcycle tires. New tires are great! Fat tires are heavy and increase rolling resistance, costing you HP.
They might even chew up your tail light wire bundle..

So the contact patch remains the same, and the cornering manners are consistent with the more "square" car tire? I have never really looked into it, and have just automatically dismissed it.

I guess I just never considered changing the potential safety of my bike over a couple hundred bucks. I probably ride too fast in corners, especially in the rain, but I am not ready to change, just yet.

Not arguing here, I am looking for genuine feedback, and respect your opinion.

Seems to me that whole lot of folks around here don't know how to read...

Why are so many darksiders against polite chats? And some of us just ignore stupid rules and laws. Nothing will happen because of this "infraction".

I’ve followed goldwingers on the Tail of the dragon with a car tire on and in the rain and the contact patch was still very significant and get 60000 miles to boot. I didn’t simply because on my 07 I couldn’t find any that fit except one that was extremely hard to find. Darkside works. The naysayers can chime in as much as they want but it works. It’s a very personal choice.
