Default PPF on the Trike

Over a year ago I took the Harley Bras off the rear fenders. Had the trike ceramic coated. Today, due to our crappy roads here in the desert the front of the fenders and side panels look like crap due to rock chips and other debris flying up
bought a bottle of vivid black touch up paint and made an appointment with the company that did the original Ceramic coating who will do the work to remove the ceramic coating from the damaged portions of the fenders and side covers. (PPF will not stick to ceramic coating)
OK, the ceramic coating company recommended another company who will do PPF (paint protection film) coating over the repaired sections then back to the ceramic coating shop to have everything re-coated,
Before I go through with this, my question is has anyone else had their machines done with PPF and what is your opinion other than it's
expensive stuff it is.

I have the Harley PPF on my trike and it looks/works good. However I did accidently hit one side with my boot getting off and it scarred pretty bad. I may try to remove and replace. The PPF does keep paint safe though.

I was under the impression the PPF was self healing, to a certain extent anyways??

They say a bit of heat from a heat gun will smooth any scratches out of the PPF.

Did you install it yourself or have a pro do it?

I installed the Harley kit myself on my 2018 TG. Then on my 2020 TG I had the complete Hog Skins kit professionally installed. IMO while they do offer some protection they are not immune to damage from gravel size rocks. And even with the professional installation there were areas where the PPF was somewhat noticeable. On my 2024 TG I decided it just was not worth the $$$ and the hassle and am going naked. The 2020 TG in Tahitian Teal on the Hog Skins website is mine. https://hogskinspaintprotection.com/

I investigated several PPF solutions, including the Harley PPF. I purchased the Hog Skins Paint Protection Full Kit for my 2022 CVO Tri-Glide and installed it myself after viewing the YouTube video. I then applied Gtechniq Ceramic for PPF for extra protection. I highly recommend these two products versus cheaper versions.
