Its a very nice day today and I was getting to get ready to go too town for a meeting. She said lets ride one of the bikes.
I said no, just five days past my last chemo treatment and I am not safe enough for myself, muchless with precious cargo on the back.

My wonderful wife and I are about to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.
It all started as a blind date!
She pretty much saved my life from a recent health crisis and has encouraged me to take the ride of a lifetime in June with one of my riding buddies.
Before I leave on that ride I have us booked for a trip to Maggie Valley and to Myrtle Beach to spend some time showing her just how special she is and how much I appreciate her.
Without her support and help I could never have opened a business. She worked a full time job with the state of NC and would drive 25 miles each way in the evenings to help me. For three years we worked pretty much 24/7. I would come home at 8pm to a clean house, meal on the table, grass moved and a beautiful smile. We have been blessed with a wonderful partnership both pulling together for success.
Looking back we have always both been gearheads owning 10 Jeeps over the years from stock to highly modified to show and to mud. I surprised her with a new 2009 45th anniversary Mustand for Christmas in 2010. We enjoyed that for many years with the local Mustang Club.
We were both passionate about snow sking for almost 12 years and have some wonderful memories.
Our passion moved to boating where we owned three boats from 27 to 36 foot. We followed the APBA races all across the eastern US from Key West to the St. Lawrence Waterway and the Great Lakes. We were members of the four boating clubs including Poker Runs America and Florida Powerboat Club. She was an amazing first mate, could handle the truck and trailer as well as navigate the ICW and coastal waterways.
It was the Carolina Girl that suggested we get a motorcycle. I grew up riding Honda's as a young man fellow and together we picked out our first Harley. It was a 2008 FLHX that we customized and put 28k miles on. The next bike was a 2010 Ultra Classic for 6 years and 56k miles, followed by a 2016 Limited for just over a year and 16k miles. She calls me oneday to ask when I would be home. I asked whats up and she shocked me stating she had traded our bike, and we need to get it to the dealership before 5pm. Yeap, she decided we deserved a CVO and she actually neogiated a great deal. We rode that bike 5 years and 48k miles before we landed with the two bikes we have now. Amazing trips & memories totally close to 200k miles in 18 years now. We have been active in two different HOG Chapters and I served as Activities Director, Road Captain, Safety Officer, Assistant Director and Director with ehr help and support. We were both patched members of Rolling Thunder for almost 10 years and road to DC 8 times.
So, I have had something special on my mind for her. The Carolina Girl has hinted that a sheshed would be really cool. She does a lot of gardening / flowers, has her bird feeders and seed. She has also wanted a place to keep both of her sewing machines setup full time. I know this would help her enjoy that passion much more.
Normally Thursday is our date night when we go to dinner and usually chill around a fire or a movie for the evening. I suggested she go with me today, come to my meeting and I would like to take her to lunch at her favorite restaurant in town.
She was surprised when I stopped at a place that builds storage sheds. We actually found two we really liked but they would both have to be finished out. We ran down the road about a mile to the next location. When we told the lady what we were looking for she took off walking. The second one we saw was it. The building had been on the lot for a year and they had a 15% disount. I was able to get them down 20% and it was almost $2k less than the first building we saw that was not finished.
I made 100% sure that this would really make her happy then told her to write the check. I am so happy for her. She knows what lights she wants, the blinds to cover the windows and has a good idea of the flooring to complete the package. She does not know this, but I plan to install a Mini Split for total comfort.
The Carolina Girl is a very special, caring, humble individual that means more than life to me.
Another thread here on the forum got me thinking about those of us blessed with special women in our lives.
I hope many of you will follow suite to honor that special lady in your life that makes life worth living.

Not a lot of woman put up with all of them toys, you and I are one of the lucky ones. I have had so many cars and motorcycles i cant count them all. Boats are another story, started out with a 19 ft in 1972 and moved up to a 41 Viking SF, out last three were SFs all along with cars and motorcycles no complaints from her. We have gone from Chesapeake Bay to Fl with the last boat, lots of fun. Down to one Car toy, one bike. In June it will be 58 year for us. She always says its been one hell of a ride.
