Hi all, just wondering what you use to reinstall the drain plug? I can barely fit a deepwell socket over the plug but it rubs on one of the shocks. With the deepwell I could use a torque wrench though. What about a u joint and regular socket, easier fit but no torque wrench? Last, what about an allen wrench fo center of plug? Thanks for any help!
I've found the easiest way is to just use a long allen wrench without anything else. Easy to get it started and finger tight. Then change to your socket and torque wrench if desired.
Thanks for the reply's! I ended up using the allen wrench to start it and snug it up and used the 3/8" drive socket, extension, and torque wrench. Yes I do have a service manual but it's not clear on this. Thanks again Guys!

I've done this a bunch seems to work really well just takes an extra step. Put the socket on a 6" extender........break the torque on the drain plug then use a 6' long ball nose allen wrench to back the plug completely out. Then just reverse the process when you reinstall. My experience with those drain plugs is the allen fitting tends to get rounded or flare out (high torque) in the corners and you have to get a new drain plug. You are right though......HD put that plug smack between the shocks and you can't completely back the drain plug out while it on the socket. I get about three turns and I'm hitting the shocks.
