Default flush mount gas gauge and cap install

Getting ready to start install of my flush mount gas gauge and gas cap and Dakota digital speedo. Anyone have any tips or tricks to making install go smooth or any tricks to making them last longer? Going on 08 street bob by the way. Thanks for help.

Follow instruction, no tricks lol.
There is a procedure to dial in your current mileage, you can only do it in the first 100miles. The hardest thing is pushing the fuel gauge down and lock in place, it could take a few attempts.
Good luck! RTFM!

Screw in the gas cap nice and tight and I mean tight. Fully seat the fuel gage. these need to be fully seated to ensure that your surrounding ring get lined up perfectly. without removing the adhisive covering on the rings, line up the rings to the caps, then place a piece of masking tape across the top and extending 2-3" onto the tank. Lift one end of the tape, lifing the ring, DO NOT fully remove the masking tape. Remove the adhisive covering and slowly lower the ring around the caps using the making tape as an alinement tool. Once this is on the paint, it won't come back off. Good luck.

congrats on the new instal one minor issue i learned from a buddies mistake when doing this is the o rings they supply you to place around your flush mounts... they are somewhat tapered... before pulling the adhesive backing set them on the take around the gas cap and spin it until it fits the form of your tank the best for a compete flush look... for future reference...

Ya I made that mistake but can't notice it unless you run finger across it. No biggie for me. Hardest part is figuring out all the options on speedo.
