Poor advice from JON he may be un-educated!
All the info you require is in the first few pages of this thread Tommy, LA has done an amazing job on the info required to do this, you won't be disappointed. If you have done it once it will be easier the second time around, working on your own bike is good bonding time anyway especially if you can't get out to ride.
My only addition to LA's info is measure the the air gap with 5W fork oil in, slider down, Ricor's in and spring, washer and pre-load spacer out at 85mm from top of fork tube (fork leg vertical) rather than oil volume only, this is what the HD book says. Couple of beers some loud music and you will enjoy yourself and the ride that it will produce. Best of luck. TJ

Great thread, great advise, thanks LAdog. I completed the RaceTech / Ricor upgrade to my '14 CVO BO a few weeks back and have done over 400kms since. The handling is sooo much better and more predictable, on a dollar for benefit scale this is a mega bargain. I used 1.1kg springs as I am 105kg, I measured the air gap with 5W fork oil in, slider down and spring out at 85mm rather than oil volume only, changed the rear spring preload to 1-3/4 anti clockwise. I am still running the standard tyres at 38/42psi but will look at changing them out to Avon Cobras over the next few months. As for the EBC HH pads (FA457HH & FA458HH) the CVO uses the same as the standard BO take a little bit of bedding in but work a treat a lot less front end dive during braking events, worth every penny.
Sorry for quoting my own post, just an update:
With the Cobras fitted I have made a few adjustments and the ride has improved again. Rear shocks set at 1-1/4 turns anti clockwise and 38psi front and back gives good feet in the front and less reaction from the rear. These tyres get up to heat quickly and have very good grip, I can live with the associated wear, grip is always first in my requirements. Unfortunately ground clearance will remain the biggest issue, adjusting my ride style through corners (lean out & pick the bike up) helps but a lean angle of round 25deg is what you will always have to work with. If I want to go faster through the tight stuff I will take my sports bike out. Focus on smooth and stylish you can't go wrong.

I have a 2017 CVO Pro Breakout FXSE with the inverted forks. Will these directions for the upgrade to the forks apply to this bike??

impossible, as the tubes have t drop down, at that point, fender has to be off, tires etc, than, I can remove air better/.....
