Default Universal Luggae on a Slim?

You guys ever travel with generic/universal luggage like from FirstGear or similar? I'm talkin like the magnet universal saddle bags and maybe even a magnetic tank bag? Just curious how these fit and work out for trips instead of the made to fit leather stuff. Just a thought.

A little dust goes a long way into ruining a nice paint job with that magnetic stuff. Just say'n.

I bought some cheap throw overs arounder 100-125 range. They worked fine on distance trips with the Saddleman sissy bar bag. I recently purchased the leatherpro bags that fit on the Slim without relocating the plate or signals. They're about $700. Pricey but they're are solid. I'd say go for it for now then when ya save up some scratch get what u like.

+1 on the Leather Pros. Keep an eye out on Ebay. I scored a brand new set for the wife's bike for under $400 and I found a set of like new Boss Bags for my bike at the same price. BTW many of the Boss Bags are made by Gary at Leather Pro for his brother at Boss Bags. They just use a different mounting system.

Both are quick on and off, fit great with no signal relocation and hold lots of important stuff like 40 cans of beer per side. LOL

Great thought...but I'm aware. I've seen guys using these for years with no paint problem. Most new stuff is microfibered and everything else to protect paint. But I agree...use carefully. But I also believe if used carefully, it should be zero paint problems. The tank bag seems like a convenient way to travel with the size of our tanks, was more curious about the bags. I'd rather have the true ones, but trying to be honest about how much and for what purpose I'd actually use them and compare that to cost effectiveness.
