Default Smoky exhaust, too much oil ?

Hey Guys,

My bike developed a problem over the past couple of weeks and I am in need of some advice.
I'm getting white (as I can tell) smoke from the exhaust. I had changed to the Vance and Hines Naked VO2 kit after winter and thought that might be the culprit. A friend asked me if I added anything to the fuel for storage, and I told him that I added some Stabil. (I usually use Seafoam, but didn't have any).
He said it may just need to burn off. Well, I've been through 7 tanks of fuel, so I imagine that it's gone by now.
I went back to the hypercharger, expecting it to be better, and it smoked worse. I'm scratching my head.
I was wondering if too much oil in the tank could cause this, or a restricted oil filter ?
I am going to grab a compression tester this week and check it out, but I had the plugs out and they were dry. The front was a nice tan color, and the rear had just a bit of black carbon. No wetness, no damage to the electrode.

I'm trying to determine if it's oil blow by, overfilling, valves, or what.
I hate to be down in the prime riding season, but the amount of smoke is embarrasing and probably harmful to the bike. I'd rather down it, and take it apart than destroy it. Any advice ? Thanks in advance

Black carbon tends to mean too much fuel. And whitish smoke is usually raw fuel. Year and miles?

I didn't see what year of bike you have. I'd start by checking the oil level. Take her for a ride and get her up to running temp. On level ground check and on the kick stand check the level. I've had great luck at the 1/2 way mark. That's the point between add and full. Per HD that is acceptable. Hopefully that's all. Good luck

I've been thinking fuel, but have read that white smoke is oil. Can't tell from the smell, I've had my nose broken 8 times...

Does it smell like burning oil?
Both exaust?
Smoke all the time, or just on startup, or accelerating?
Synthetic oil or dino?

Both exhaust, can't tell the smell, when idling, and a puff just off idle.

Carbed? If so, I would take that apart and clean it up. I had the same thing happen to me on a 99 Honda Shadow years ago. Cleaning the carb solved it.

Do you have the stock breather setup installed, which draws a vacuum on the cylinder heads behind the air filter? You might consider unhooking the breathers from the air filter temporarily to see if that fixes it, perhaps your engine is producing a lot of blow by for some reason... but that'll need to be investigated too.

Have you done a compression check to ascertain if you have any mechanical problems?

A video of the smoking would help folks diagnose, if you have a smart phone and a youtube account.
