I hear that's pretty common, I'd replace it with a pingal.
They are known for quality.

 

for a temp fix you can take the back off where the vac line connected an there's a spring an a diaphram you can flip the spring an diaphram until you get a new one. I purchased a Pingel to replace mine with since this is a known potential problem.
