Default Heritage Classic Engine Guard bolt

I got an engine guard/highway pegs from a buddy of mine for free for my 17 Heritage Classic. I believe it came off an 07, which has same frame if I am not mistaken. It didnt come with any bolts. Ive searched the forum and google every which way I can word it and I cant find anything on the hardware for a softail... There are threads for road kings and glides, but I didnt find any for the softail's.

Need bolt size, thread pitch, etc...

lock washers?

Blue lock tite?

Thanks

Is this the engine guard you have? It shows as fitting the 2007 and 2017 Heritage.

If so, click the "GUIDE" tab and open the Installation Instructions PDF. Scroll to the bottom of the PDF and the Harley part numbers for all the hardware you need is listed there.

If it's like most engine gaurd/crash bars, it bolts to the frame in three places. None of the three are threaded, only holes in the frame. With that being said...run to the hardware's store and get the largest diameter bolt that will fit through the holes and use a self locking nut. Tighten them until they are tight.

I was thinking the same thing. Or just go to Your Harley Dealership. But, you'll pay a lot more at Harley.

Thanks, ill go pickup some grade 8 stuff at the hardware store near me in the sizes listed in that PDF.

Yea I saw none of the holes were threaded when I got down and looked real close last night, but I still would like to have the right size hardware to install it.

The crash bar for my Heritage is threaded. Bolts are tack welded on. OEM mustache bar.
