fill more gas to leave on the road when i stand the bike up..

I've never needed that extra bit. Sometimes gas stops are for more than gas.

This is why you have to look a used bike over very closely.

Lol.. not for most of you then.. but for anyone thinking of doing it, it doesn’t leak over the filler when you ride the bike, there’s still a 1” gap after all. It’s also handy to let the gas (air) release when you fill up so you don’t get the occasional backup that spills over the tank.
its funny how forums react with their own personality. i posted this on a K1300 beemer site years ago, I lost count of the guys who made the mod, maybe metric riders are more ‘Micky mouse’? 😂

Well, not for me either, but not for the reasons stated here.

My bladder is smaller in capacity than the tank. And when 2 up, after around 120 miles, I keep hearing little noises in my ear from behind anyway!!

But as others say, its up to you.

Curious, as you don't list your bike model and year.
Do you only have one bung and is it on the right (throttle) side?
If so, then this mod will work.
