Chrome Cleaner
Hey fellas,
I have tried a number of products on my bike to keep my parts clean. Does anyone have a recommendation on a particular chrome cleaner? Thanks -Teach |
Mothers chrome polish. Also, just for touch ups and water spots I use windex. |
I use Meguiars wax for paint & chrome

I had issues getting tar spackles off the pipes years back. Someone suggested this. It worked great, its readily available and its cheap. Can get at Walmart.

What are you trying to clean off of it? Honestly spit in a clean rag..and wiping it down with some elbow grease, should bring a great shine.
For small rust pits....the finest of steel wool works great. |
I use Bluemagic. Works pretty good.

It's called Windex. Maybe you've heard of it!

I use this and it works very well.if yu have stubborn pitting, dip a piece of #0000 gauge steel wool in it and clean it , let it haze over and then wipe off. I used a lot of chrome polish/cleaner, never had one with a ball bearing in the container to mix the ingredients, "75" chrome does, seems to be chock full of cleaning additives.AND a little goes a long way . YMMV

You're going to get a bunch of differnt opinions on this subject. But, my favorite is Never Dull. It's an old product, but you can't argue with success. It makes the chrome pop when you give it the final buff. The really cool thing is it gets the baked on bug guts off of the pipes pretty easily. No fingernail scratching or hard rubbing required. Just apply it, let it sit for a bit and do a second application. The bug guts usually come off on the second application.

For completeness sake, lemon Pledge has been used to clean chrome as well. It actually does a reasonably good job. It can be used on the paint as well.
