Default 2007 OIL LEAK

I have 3400km or 2600mi on my 07, today noticed oil seeping out of the spot in picture. Before the picture was taken I cleaned area with brake cleaner and the rode 15mi before pic taken. is this normal oil seepage?? I really do not want to take itto the dealer, they are booking oil changes for the end of July, the bike would be at the dealer for the rest of the summer if I took it in. Any one else have this seepage??

A lot depends on where the oil is really coming from. If it's leaking from the case seam as it looks, it can be a very serious problem. If it's coming from someplace else and dripping there, it may not be so bad. Best to get the dealer to have a look and decide if it's serious enough to run into the shop or if it's a minor problem and you can keep riding until they are less busy.

Harley has had some problems with porous castings. Some were on cylinders, some on the cases. That might be the case.

The type oil you have in the motorcycle is not a factor in this.

i just tolk a look at my 07 at the same spot yours is leaking and all over the motor and mine is not leaking. and i have about the same miles 1500 miles. i would take it in for sure and have it looked at before something bad happend. even thought nothing bad may come from it. it is just that you have a lot of cash in your bike and i would cry if mine was leaking and i did nothing about it and wound up causing more problems becouse i did not have it looked at

Hi, How you doing. I would realy like to know what happend about your oli leak. As I also have a leak from the same place. Did the dealer sort it out for you? & if so how long did they have your bike. My bike is an 2007 Fatboy:

Thanks: Lenny

Dealer said to just monitor leak.
Some time after a couple of hours of riding it has the same amount as picture sometimes none.

Due to your location, I'd bet you have the same dealer I have. Not surprised by the just monitor it comment. Next time you go in dump a quart all over it and ask if this is a big enough leak to fix. There should be none.

I can't even get the dealer to do the recall for the battery cable re routing, I haveNO service expectations from them. Really makes me wonder what the point of my exteneded warranty is if I can't ge the bike in the shop??
