Progressive Rear Suspension

How do you like the system?
Any issues?
With or without the external dampener?
Transmission serviceability?
Comparable systems?

Thanks

After 5 years I'm still liking the 422 RAP.
I would buy it again.

I have about 19k on my 422's with zero complaints (2016 Deluxe standard weight springs) the RAP makes them easy to stiffen a bit when loaded heavier for a trip. They are actually a better ride after being broken in.
I also put the Progressive Mono Tubes in the front, much better ride and no brake dive. My set up is lowered one inch front and rear.

My 05 also has 422 standard spring and progressive front lowering springs with SE Fork oil and lowered 1".
Have 22,000 miles on it 90% solo Im 225 lb and it has been great, IMO well worth the $

I have heavy duty 422 RAP and mono tubes in 2 soft tails. Ride 2 up most of the time and they are great. It doesn't turn them into touring bikes, but they are a huge improvement over stock suspension. I am not sad about spending the money on them. I haven't had any service issues. The shocks are actually a bit smaller around than the stock shocks so the bike frame sits on the jack when the jack is toward the rear. The jack would come up against the shocks with the stock ones and I had to use spacers under the frame.

When I finally went with aftermarket suspension I choose the 442's with the monotubes up front. After which, I was pissed off with myself for waiting so long to make the switch. Incredible difference in handling in the twisties.

Just put Progressive monotubes in front of 2007 Night Train - this is must have for softail. Handling is way much better. Rear upgrade is the next step.
