Default 2006 Softail Deluxe

I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe blue and white with big tan saddle bags tan seat and the tan travel case that goes on the back. It has a windshield and it has Vance and Hines pipes. And has around 40,000 miles. Overall it is in really good condition except a couple of weeks ago the tray that holds the ECU came loose and the tire shot my ECU out the back and now I need that replaced. I believe it would cost about 1500 dollars but I just don’t have that kind of money and am wondering what would be a fair price to ask for to sell the bike.

Ouch! I would think that will devalue the bike quite a bit. It's not just the cost of the ECU to consider. Someone would be buying without knowing if the bike even ran once the ECU was replaced, or if there might be drivetrain damage or some other hidden problems.

If you were close, I'd consider it because I do my own wrenchwork. It might be a good candidate to change it over to a carb and ditch the electronics.
But, I doubt I'd pay much more than a couple grand, even it were in good shape. Mostly because I couldn't hear it run, or I couldn't ride it.

Good luck with it. I'm afraid right now, it's just a bolted together collection of parts of unknown condition.

Based on NADA Guide it is in the retail range of $5500 -6800 running in good condition. Not running and with a known repair of about $1500 as you stated and the chances it needs more to repair it I think if you get $3000 you will be doing well.

Give eBay a look. I bet you can find an ECM a lot cheaper than $1500...
