I think you were able to do so because you had to specify what year and your vendors had products that worked with the 2011 Softails, yes?

I think it looks bad ***. Everyone is going to have something to input about someone else's bike; but its not their bike, its yours. I am sure that rear fender lowers to just the right height when you're sitting on it.
What size is that rear wheel?
And I just can't seem to be able to tell what that thing started out as... Heritage? Fatboy? Softail Standard? I cannot figure it out.
