funny thing about the tranny clatter . walking into Hammond Hd . yesterday . Sales runs " RUNS " up to me looking at a ultra , hey got new in back just in Black 08 , my response naw not yet waiting till they fix the tranny noise ; trying to see what he has to say : huh ?> what noise never heard of that he replies , i broke mine 07 in riding HARD and never have i heard anything . My response back to him pull out your ear plugs , got several buddies fighting with 07 - 08 making racket like heck . guys face turns RED and walks off . Oh well so much , a little conversation as to whyor maybe a bullsh!t answer to cover up things i'da liked to hear what he had to say if anything at all .

Sorry dude.
Mine never "WOOTED" and my tranny never clattered.

Take it to an indy mechanic, and if it's serious, have him document it IN WRITING, then take it to the STEALER for warranty work.
Feel free ta yell obscenities at the service people if they give ya any resistance. In front of as many people as possible, hopefully in earshot of the showroom! [sm=lildevil.gif]

They may hate ya after that, but at least ya get the bike fixed... :D

my personnel guess would be drive belt look at bottom guard or just get rid of it
that said loud pipes will get rid of that noise...........................

Kicks, is this your first Harley?
And yes, it comes stock with the stupid looking hub caps.
If I ever had to ride a Harley with stock pipes it would probably drive me nuts too.

Nope not my 1st but my 5th.
The dealer looked at it at under 10 miles or so shook everything looked everythhing over and said normal and that the sound may go away.
I now have a nice st of pipes and I still hear this.
Like a toothache.

i have an 08 custom also but have never heard any tranny clatter or this mystrious WOOT WOOT you speak of. I hope you find out what it is. please let us know when you do[8D]
