RE: powder coat opinions

"Black is the new chrome!" I recently had my struts, bars, nacelle, trim ring, fork lowers, and cow bells coated black and it looks great. My new spoke wheels (powdercoated rims and hubs) are on the way. I'm about to send my pipes, air cleaner cover, and parts from my forward controls too but I don't want to over-do it with the black. I think contrast with the chrome is better. My advice is to do a little at a time and don't be afraid to experiment... and post better pics when you're done.

You can get a pretty good powdercoating rig for about $150.00.Get an old oven from a yard sale or something like that and you can powdercoat everything you can fit in the oven.My cousin has a large garage we used to do it in.Not that hard man, I'm sure if you can take the parts off, you can powdercoat them.

RE: powder coat opinions

actually i have a friend who owns a powder coat shop that does all the coating for the stealership.
i will eventually do the wheels but not until i need to do some other work like brakes or tire change.
i got a quote for tearing apart spokes, blasting, powder coating, and back together installed and my heart almost stopped so ill be waiting for that mod.
