I need some opinions on powder coating.
i'm thinking on powdering my bars, engine guards(on bench)haha, and levers.
but i'm open to opinions hoping someone may have some.
ill try posting a pic or 2 of my bike.
tx for all opinions.
pics are poor sorry!!!
"Black is the new chrome!" I recently had my struts, bars, nacelle, trim ring, fork lowers, and cow bells coated black and it looks great. My new spoke wheels (powdercoated rims and hubs) are on the way. I'm about to send my pipes, air cleaner cover, and parts from my forward controls too but I don't want to over-do it with the black. I think contrast with the chrome is better. My advice is to do a little at a time and don't be afraid to experiment... and post better pics when you're done.
Here's my list of stuff out to the powder coater for my 02 Heritage Springer..I decided to go all out at once.
All tins Matte Black.
The rest gloss black
levers
Struts
Exhaust Bracket
Rear Directionals
teardrop rocker covers
Progressive front spring lowering kit

Tombstone cover
front fender light
Tool Box Bracket
Side mount plate bracket
Axle covers
PM A guy named powdercoater, search the member list & send him an email or message, hes in SC I believe, his prices are reasonable but youd have to ship them, unless you ive near SC
Nice bike, I blacked out the engine & need to do fender struts wheels Dash & Tail light
You can get a pretty good powdercoating rig for about $150.00.Get an old oven from a yard sale or something like that and you can powdercoat everything you can fit in the oven.My cousin has a large garage we used to do it in.Not that hard man, I'm sure if you can take the parts off, you can powdercoat them.
actually i have a friend who owns a powder coat shop that does all the coating for the stealership.
i will eventually do the wheels but not until i need to do some other work like brakes or tire change.
i got a quote for tearing apart spokes, blasting, powder coating, and back together installed and my heart almost stopped so ill be waiting for that mod.
