Default install pc111 on 07 softtail standard info

ok i have been thinking of going with some mods to get a bit more horse power intake and new pipes. i know that i'll need a new fuel mang. system. i have done some research and i'm going with a power commander. after talking to my tech guy (jim's ironhorse putnam ct ) shamless plug for a great guy who does exellent work and won't do work on your pony that's wrong just for a buck. he siad that the location for the module is under the back fender and that it is a real bitch of a job. so here's my question has anyone done this install them self's and is there any tricks that i should know about before starting this project. i. e. drilling wire hole's, what needs to be removed tire oil tank ect.
thank
eric

Mine is mounted behind the splash guardof the rear fender. I routed the cables up to the battery box and left the USB cable plugged in routed up to the same area for easy hookup to a dyno. The instructions from Dynojet are detailed and explain very well where to locate the PC.Easy job, no more than 30 minutes.

ditto on behind the splash guard. I did not have to remove the tank and also the instructions were wrong for the 07. You do not have to remove the relays. I just reached in there after the splash guard was lowered but not removed and then tie rapped to where the siren would have gone. One suggestion is coat every connection with dielectric grease.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if there's a similar problem with the Heritage?

I made a deeper ECM dish and mine sits under the seat on top of the ECM. What you see in these pics are that I took a second ECM tray, cut the bottom out of it, attached it to a regular ECM tray, put in the ECM with the PCIII sitting on top of it.

That sounds like a great idea.
Do I have your procedure right: the second tray with the bottom cut out is screwed to the original tray?

That is correct. At least for me, there is plenty of room under the fender. Even when I ride my bike slammed, nothing rubs. Now, I did have to take out a little bit under the seat to make it sit right, but you might not have to do that.
