Thanks... PCIII is the Power Commander made by Dynatek.

I am installing a Vance & Hines Big Radius on my 2008 Fat Boy along with a High Flow intake. Do I need the PCIII or can I just take it to the Harley Dealer and have them change the mapping? Thanks.

with the changes you are having done, I think you will need some type of fuel management system. there are several on the market, to include the Harley download, and as many different opinions on which one is the best. I chose the power commander because of the results of several of my riding buddies and with the recommendation of my indy. plus, the dealer wanted to charge $200 for the download and the PCIII was $329 installed. if you are so inclined, you can buy it and install it yourself for around $280. another reason I went with the PCIII is I plan to do a little engine work in the future. I can get another map for whatever I do.

I have been doing some research here and it seems that there are 3 main options for me. Which is the best for me?

1. Harley Downloa
2. PCIII
3. Thundermax with Autotune

mine went down but runs richer. I get about 40 average. I am going to lean the cruising range and see what that does
I used to get 40 mpg when riding on the street, without windshield.NowI get between 35 and 37 mpg when I get on the freewayand hit it betwen 75 and 85/90 mph , of course if the traffic allows it.

Congratulations Aviator! We all know that we didn't buy a Harley for its fuel mileage. (or shouldn't have....hee heeeee)

Jeez, those Fatboy's look so much better with the dorkie stock exhaust removed and replaced.

thanks PoorBoy - that's exactlywhat I was gonna say after reading all the replies. if I was worried about 2 or 3 MPG, I would have gotten a Vespa...... I love my Harley and the sound and love twisting the throttle to make more sound. just think, I'm keeping some poor oilfield hand employeed.

hey - have you been down to Key West yet? I'm thinking that's a trip I want to do.... maybe later this spring. I've been to Key West, but, via cruise ship.
