Check out the NADA price guide: http://wl.nadaguides.com/ The guide reflects what dealers actually get for a bike. I would not go over $14K, and you may do better with a private party. The low mileage is good, but anything below 10K miles in good condition should be just fine. These bikes didn't change much between 2000 and 2007, but with the addition of fuel injection. Don't fall in love with a bike or you will leave your wallet on the salesman's table.

I think the color is Dragonfly green/vivd black. Very nice. But not nice enough to pay an extra 2 grand for. You should ride a 6 speedto compare (if you haven't already) before you decide if you need or wantit.

Yeah it is overpriced. I sold my 06 fatboy I had about 12000.00 dollars worth of stuff on it and I could only sell it for 17500.00 It took me 4 months to sell it and it was a great looking bike but the used bike market is flooded with great deals. Good luck.

OK, I talked to my sales guy this morning and they are asking 15,221 for it.

While, I did fall in love with it, I am VERY **** about where my money goes and how much of it is leaving my bank account. I was asking around on here for some input and also doing some research of my own.

I ride on the Ultra with the hubby and see how fast you need to be going to get it into 6th and not be bogging down the engine, so that is why I am looking slightly older with a 5 speed tranny. I am not into making the engine as big as you can just to get a little more "umph" out of it, so 88 or 96 it doesn't matter to me. The only thing I care about is that it sounds like a Harley.

Our HOG meeting is tomorrow night, so the hubby will be checking it out then (he was at work when I looked at it on Saturday).

Thanks for all of your input and hopefully before long I will be hanging out over here on the Softail forum.

-Christine
