I have an 05 and have 34,000 miles on her - of course I had toslam her an nch to get my feet on the gorund. You will get use to the sound - get some pipes - some REAL pipes, then you won't hear it so much! Ride safe!

 

I went from the Sporty to the Deluxe too, I have done over 350 miles in a day twice on the Deluxe so far this spring, and 200-250 was a bout my max on the sportster, you will really enjoy this bike!

 

Good luck with the Deluxe its a winner. When i first seen a deluxe picture back in 04 i knew at firts site i was going to own one. I like old cars and also bikes so this was a perfect fit for me. Harly trys to make a bike for all. and it seems like they are doing a pretty good job. Enjoy now you will be broke once you start to add mods

 

I have an '07 and also fell in love at first sight. The nostalgic look seems timeless. As the others have said, yep...it's a normal sound just like the gear noise in 5th --- 5th gear is straight cut --- and is amplified towards your ears if you add a windshield, and let us not forget that satisfying, determinedsound when we downshift! It is all good! To me these unique features just add to the whole package.I love my Deluxe.

cool motorsickle, I too have a 07 deluxe and I love that mosheene ,it has the old classic look to it, it's also the lowest of all the harleys and i like that too, I could not be happier, I rode from sarasota fl to the leesburg rally (325 miles roud trip)--no problem, enjoy it and ride safe---Cap
