Default RE: Which engine guard for Deluxe?

I think engine guards are a real tough call. Were for me anyway. For my Heritage I was torn between the standard Chrome and the Mustache. I went with the Mustache for the versatility. They have the built in foot rest which I sometimes use and if and when I decide to mount foot pegs on them, it's not a problem.

My wife's Deluxe was even harder. I wanted to go with the Nostalgic for the old school effect but I preferred the "look" of the mustache. And since that's what the wife preferred also, that's what we went with. If we change our mind we can always swap them out for something different w/o breaking the bank.

They've already been put to use twice. Second time the front frame of the left aux light took a hit. I was considering switching to a different type guard but the only one that looks like it may offer a bit more protection (higher pivot point?) from the bike tipping that far over would be the standard chrome and we didn't want that.So we're sticking with the Mustache.

I wasn't a big fan of the guard myself, that's why I went with the MK IV. I was going to go with a mustache until I saw these.

Mine came with the Rider's Essentials Kit - oval. So I'am guessing it's the Nostalgic. I like the guard 'cause it adds a lil' more chrome bling.

I went with the "regular", or Roadking style as I call it. It is all personel preference.

I also went with the HD Mustache Engine Guard (Part # 49140-05A) on my Heritage because I liked the look.

I just put the Kury mustache ergo bars on mine. IMO they look good, plus you can use them with the pegs folded in or out so it is like having 2 sets of pegs when you are riding. I rode over 200 miles this last weekend and really enjoyed the "variety" I do not have any current pics with the guard on but would take one or 2 if you are interested. This is on my '05 Deluxe

Another one for the Mustache Bar...I also added the folding pegs.
