The old oil debate goes on and on and on. Ford vs Chevy. Michigan vs Ohio State. Red Sox vs Yankees.

And yea, I use syn. and like it.

Synthetic is suppose to run cooler and maybe you don't need to change it as often. Who knows? It prolly don't matter that much!

I changed my 08 Fat Boy to mobil 1 synthetic at 1000 miles. Finding neutral is easier and shifting is quieter. I have an old 3 wheeler I use to pull the mower around the H.S. football field. It would heat to the point it would die by the time I was done and let off the throttle. I had heard how synthetic provides lower operating temps, so I changed the oil over to mobil 1 5/30 syn and when I was done mowing last week guess what. It stayed running. I even hooked up to the fertilizer rig and made about 8 passes. Like I said I run mobil 1 in my scoot, thats what comes factory in my car, but at 2000 miles I'm switching to Royal Purple. Read everything you can and you'll come across the same stuff I did. You'll also switch to Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. Read This. http://www.gadgetjq.com/oils4.htm

I've read in Easyrider that sometimes people switch to synthetic on old bikes (for more protection)..., and then start to develop leaks.

But this is not the case if you're runnin' a new bike. I also read that with Harley's you can always go back to using regular oil.

Default Synthetic

Absolutely without question...synthetic oil and synthetic tranny fluid...putting straight oil in a scoot would be like putting water rather than antifreeze in an engine....(OOPS, I thought I should not release the info that in 2012 all Harleys will be water cooled and sound like a Honda!...Love those EPA Guys)
