Welcome to the Softail club and the forums from western New York State.
I'm not sure why you didn't just ride it home either. With those big fat tires I thought Fatty's were supposed to be able to float, or is that one of those INTERNET rumors?
Not sure what the color is called, can't say I have ever seen one like it before either.
But it sure is nice looking.
If you can't figure out what its called when you get it home look under the right rear edge of the tank and see if there is a painted number there. It might be one of those limited run special colors that are usually numbered like #125 of 500 or something like that. That will tell you its not the original tin set but one of Harley's special paint sets.

I found out what the colour is "black cherry pearl" and it seems its an official color and not a custom job.
I also phoned Harley customer service in Milwaukee last night and the lady could tell me a lot about the history of the bike, built in York on 22/08/2005 and shipped to a dealer in Pomona, CA who shipped it to a dealer "Hutchins" in Yucca Valley and they sold it to the first owner.
She also send me a form that i filled out saying i export the bike from the US to Holland.
All i have to do now is sit back and wait till that ship comes in, than pay the import duties and all the taxes that apply.
And than i am ready, let's say early march for the new season, and with the Dutch weather i might be able to ride it for a couple of weeks.
07deluxe that's funny Hema rookworst, i agree they are very nice and they sell a decent hot-dog to these days !
thx again for the warm welcome guys !

exxv1600a, that's an odd name. Something to do with the Yamaha you have, or what?
BTW If you have the serial number of the bike you can go to the Harley web site and regester it. Then when ever you go there you can check to see if they have any recalls or other info about it you might like to know. I forgot to tell you about it before, and its a little late now cause you already kinow it. But it may also tell you what the color was called when the bike left the factory in York Pennsylvania (I believe all Softails are built there).
