The bike looks nice.

If you are buying from a dealer, forget about paying them for the paint and chrome accessories (they did not pay for that when they took it in).

You did not say if the bike was carb or EFI.

If carb figure on $12,295 - if EFI $12,635 -- plus tax, title, license plates, etc...

Chrome has no resale value but they are still trying to sell it like it does. Like someone else said, they wouldn't give you much if you were to trade it in with all the "extras" but they sure thing it's worth it when they are selling it....

The only time chrome is worth anything is when the person selling it is making a buck on it....

I think it's comical when I see CL ads or ebay ads and they jack up the price $2-3k because that is what they say they have invested in all their "extras". What they don't realize is unless they have the exact same vision as the future buyer has on what the bike should look like, all that aftermarket crap doesn't make a difference.....

If I was to sell my bike right now taking into account all the $$ i've dumped in it, I wouldn't expect much over FMV...it's a risk you take when you start personalizing something....

Look at KBB. It'll tell what add ons are worth and everything. Guarantee that the dealer gave him no more than what the book says its worth. I was shocked to find that a $300 detach windshield was worth only $25 in "Da Book"! I bet the only thing he got good credit for was the paint,(they prefer "custom moco paint"). dat was my deal anyways. Times are hard, play hard ball and u should get a better deal than that.

Put another way, chrome and add ons are worth more taken off a used bike and sold separately then being sold with the bike.

If you plan on getting a similar paint job and all the chrome extras anyway, it might not be such a bad deal. That **** adds up fast. If you don't care much for the extras, then just go new. That said, it still may be a little high, but I wouldn't say "outrageous".

Nice looking bike, imo.

That is too much $$$$$$$$$$. Bike is nice, but quite simular to mine and I would expect to recieve about $12,500 if selling in this very down market.

I'm new to this and know very little with regards to how much bikes are worth relative to how many miles they've been ridden and all... but I just bought my 2006 with only 2362 miles and paid 14,900 out the door. Maybe I got lucky or maybe that is the norm? I don't know? Kinda misleading though because it was also part of a trade where I traded my 03 Chevy Silverado extended cab truck and they gave me $11,500 for it. Truck only had 68K miles on it and was in near-showroom condition, extremely well taken care of with all records to show but couldn't sell it so I ended up trading it for the bike. I am pleased with the deal and that's all that matters... so I guess my point is talk them down if you can and then agree to the deal when you're comfortable with it and who care what anyone else thinks? Just my .02 cents.
