Do yourself a favor and get a k and n at autozone for $35 or so. I think the number is hd 0800. Do a forum search, I think you know how. When I replaced my SE a/f with the k and n there was a nocticable difference in the way the bike ran...

If you have the blue SE filter chuck that chit out the window and get a K&N if its the other one, yes it is washable. Use the K&N cleaning kit and you will be fine. As Anubisss said, the K&N filters are made better though.

The blue and the black paper elements that come with the HD SE air filter are both cheap crap and have a tendency to come apart.
I didn't waste any time replacing mine with a K&N HD-0800 filter.

I feel stupid asking this, but when swapping over to the new filter, there is no need to adjust my fuel map right?

The newer SE filters (black ring) are washable but not oilable. The older ones (blue ring) are not.

Is this the right filter? The part number for the SE A/C Kit it references in the add does not match the part number for my SE A/C kit. But mine is 3 years old so maybe the part number changed. Any ideas?
