I have a similar seat to the 52000-04.... it enabled me to sit back a little farther...
I would recommend the change...
I had the same issue as DaddyKnuck with sitting on the back ridge of the stock seat... I'm still back there... but it's more comfortable...
I have left the seat springs alone... but am planing on lowering it apox. 2" when I get the gumption...

anyway that's my .02
