In my opinion, it's one of the best softails out there. But I'd like to see em do something different with it, kinda like the nightster, or the new sporty low. It hasnt' really changed since 2006 when they went to the 200 rear on it. before that the only change was when they switched from evo to twincam.
come on Harley, show me some new hot sheeit on the best softy in town.
give me some stock black rims or spokes, black headlight trim, holes in my chain guard, bring back the bad boy springer. SOMETHING.
actually, don't bring back the Bad boy, cause I'd go buy one.

A large misconception is that HD is in the motorcycle business. Kind of the same way Disney is in the theme parks business.
Harley is in the accessories and financial sales business. Disney is in the gift shop business. It's not the "initial" purchase that drives these companies, it's the constant "residual" purchases that drive it's profits year after year.
The motorcycles are nothing more than a starter kit and is a lesser important part of the companie's future. It's the outfit of the motorcycle, and it's engine that keeps driving profits year after year from initial purchase of the starter kit.
The more the company suffers, the least likely you will see a departure of any streamline builds to any motorcycle. Assembly line options to a current platform costs money and are labor intensive. If you can't simply bolt on a different part to a modular frame to create a different model, it's a money loser. That's the customer's job and option.
Accessory sales draw more profit than the bikes themselves, as does interest on new motorcycle loans. Accessory sales also drives accessory installation by their dealers. A steady, major trickle down effect if you will.
IMO, If you see a "makeover", it will be to their parts & accessories catalog. Look for more expensive, major parts to change up your current motorcycle. Bigger engine part choices, fat tail rear ends, fancier front ends etc. In essence, look for HD to compete with the major aftermarket parts suppliers with their own major high end products.. The new seat options are a perfect example.
