I would put the kit on, make sure it fits good, then take it off and have it painted.

hey tom, did you ever get that three inch tank lift ? mine still hasn't shipped. they said they were having a problem with shortage of some of the materials

You should bolt everything up like crazybastid83 said to check fitment of everything then send it out for paint.
