Default Stripping down 09 Heritage. Removing passenger pillion.

Hey guys, when I remove the passenger pillion I have 2 big screws and the "flap" in the back of the seat that attaches it to the rear fender.. it looks weird.. there was a post on here awhile back regarding removing the pillion and a kit that Harley has but I think it's discontinued and I think the seat is a little different on the 09. I'll try and get some pics up of what I mean asap. What do you guys do? Just get 2 smaller screws? What about the flap?

Just get some nice chrome screws for there. Is the flap you are referring to the piece of white plastic, or the clear plastic on the fender?

Not much you can do about it. Two big holes in the fender where those bolts go. I like stripping down my bike to. In the summer I take off the bags, windshield, engine guards, pillion, even the passenger foot pegs. I love the way a Heritage looks like that.

Can always replace the rear fender and seat from an 06 and older heritage, the older seats attach to the bike under the seat not in the back, and but the newer fenders will still have the mounting holes.. i dont mind the flap and the hardware, i just replaced the white plastic washers with black rubber ones and had the mounting hardware powdercoated black.

the stock seat doesn't give any back support without a rear seat on and I felt like I was sliding off everytime I got on it..
So I took the stock pillion seat, just laying around cause I got the wife the touring one, and cut the stock seat down and made this.
It wont be used as a seat, only for 1 up riding..
