I realize that the fuel guage will probably not be as accurate with the lift, but I dont really use the fuel guage anyway. I usually just gas up when the low fuel light comes on, since there is plenty of time to fill up after it lights up. So, this brings me to my concern. How will the low fuel sensor be affected with a lift kit on the tank? I assume that the sensor is located on/with the floating fuel level sensor, so would it register as having more or less gas than in reality? Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there any other things that I should take into consideration before purchasing this?

-THANKS!-
I think the general consensus is that since the stock fuel gauge and sensor are already so far off, who cares if their even further off with a tank lift.

I've got the Skull LED gauge and its anything but accurate. I stop for gas when 1 light is on and it only takes 1.5 to 2 gallons to fill up.

my only ? that I have that has halted me from installing one is the fuel crossover, how does the gas get from the right side to the left side ( I know I'm allowed one stupid moment a week) since the crossover is on the front of the tank and the petcock on the left back?

Does installing the tank lift only throw the gas gauge off, so it's inaccurate, or does having the lift mean you actually have less useable fuel in the tank (ie: you can run out of gas, with fuel still in the tank)?

Dude, just think of it like a reserve tank. When your gauge says you're low, you'll always have some more to spare. If you fill up when it says you're empty, you'll never have to worry.

Believe me, it still does. I had a brain fart and forgot to tighten the clasp on the cross over line and after a short ride fuel came pour out like niagra falls. Easy fix, but trust me, it still works.

This is the tank lift that I had installed on my Rocker:

It totally changed the look of the bike. I wish I would have done it sooner.
