i currently have the big pillow seats on this bike and would like to find a different seat for it that is slimmer, but still decent for two up. are there any other models and years that i can use for this bike? i know they say like mid 80s to 99 fxst's. does anyone know the difference between my bike and say a 2000 fxst? as those are pretty plentiful used. thanks for your help!

 

The same seats should fit all Softails (except Duece) from 1984 to 1999. From 2000 on the seats are different and won't fit 1999 and prior.

 

damn it! i was hopin someone would say something like changing a bracket or something would allow me to use the newer seats. thanks!

 

That may be possible, but if so I'm not aware of it...
